Let’s talk about what’s really going to help us win the next election.
As Conservatives, we have sound policies built on principles of low taxes, limited government, and respect for our taxpayers and fellow Canadians.
I knocked on thousands of doors last election; no one criticized our enormously successful economic agenda. In fact, the New York Times declared the Canadian middle class to be the wealthiest in the world, surpassing our American counterparts for the first time – because of responsible conservative policies.
Unfortunately, the leadership of our national campaign failed to get the message out.
If we want to win in 2019, our party must be strong, cohesive, and ready.
As leader, positioning our party to win in 2019 will be my top priority.
HERE IS MY 4-POINT PLAN TO RENEW OUR PARTY ORGANIZATION
As I travel from coast to coast, I hear over and over again from our members that they’re frustrated because the national campaign team did not understand local political dynamics.
I will build a national campaign that recognizes local concerns.
I believe anyone who dedicates their time and their money to help us build a better country deserve our respect and gratitude.
I will ensure our operations, including the nomination process, is open, fair, and timely.
For 10 years, we had a voter tracking system that was far ahead of our opponents. Last election, they caught up.
I will make it a priority to give our members modern, user-friendly tools to campaign with.
We must maximize the use of new communication channels, like social media, to reach out to voters, especially young voters.
I will ensure we have a thorough communication strategy that reaches out to all voter, across the country.
Our membership is the backbone of our party and election campaigns. Joining the party must be accessible if we want a healthy membership base.
I will lower the membership fee so we can engage more people, especially younger Canadians.
TRAINING + SUPPORT
Active and prepared riding associations make for active and prepared campaigns.
I will work with riding boards and regional organizations to provide the necessary training and support, well in advance of the next election.
The next Conservative Party leader needs to build a climate of genuine grassroots engagement, where a new, bold, positive vision takes root.
I will usher in a new chapter of party renewal and a return us to true grass-roots conservatism.
